Colorado Ice's New League Produces NFL Talent

Fort Collins, CO- The Colorado Ice’s new league, the Indoor Football League (IFL), announced on December 4, 2008 that the Billings Outlaws’ defensive back Travonti Johnson has signed with the reigning Super Bowl champions, the New York Giants. IFL commissioner Tommy Benizio commented, “One of our primary goals in the IFL is to assist in the development of our players and enable them opportunities like this one. We wish him the greatest success and hope to be sending additional players on the same path very soon.”

The promotion of Johnson to the NFL reveals the high-level of talent the IFL boasts. The Colorado Ice is no stranger to seeing its top players move to higher levels of play. Ross Weaver of the Colorado Ice went on to play for the Canadian Football League (CFL), Deric Yaussi signed with the AFL Colorado Crush, and  George Hill, Jake Gable, and Brian Sump all attended NFL training camps.

“It is a huge testament to the high level of skill the Colorado Ice players- and players from around the league- have when players regularly move on to the AFL, CFL, and NFL. It is really exciting for Ice fans to be able to witness these players in action and for Ice players it is a great opportunity for them to advance their football careers even further” stated Colorado Ice owner John Cunningham.

The Colorado Ice are proud members of the Indoor Football League (IFL).  All home games are played at the Budweiser Events Center located in Loveland, Colorado.  The 2009 season kicks off in March with specific game-day dates to be announced.  Single, group, and season tickets for the 2009 season are now available at the Colorado Ice headquarters by calling
